2023 Initiatives to Help Keep our Business a Force for Good
As a revolutionary social enterprise and change accelerator, Council Fire is impactful every day redefining profit by working to combat climate change and systemic inequity and driving improvements in the economic and social health of our communities. Our team approaches 2023 with questions, innovative ideas, and the combined expertise of our team members who are uniquely positioned and motivated to find solutions for the challenges ahead for our global community.
Among our many impact-focused efforts, 2023 initiatives include:
Continuing our Net Zero commitment and implementation
Holding ourselves accountable to our company’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Belonging Action Plan
Reducing corporate travel by supporting alternative working arrangements and maximize the use of public transportation whenever possible
Purchasing appropriate offsets for air travel
Minimizing our use of paper and and identify additional opportunities to reduce waste
Striving to track emissions with emissions tracking tool to regularly monitor and continually reduce our impact
Purchasing energy efficient office equipment and environmentally preferred products
Conducting screenings of potential suppliers to ensure their practices align with our Corporate Sustainability Policy
Supporting B Corps, minority-owned business, and entities operating in disadvantaged communities whenever possible
Promoting volunteer opportunities for staff to work with our local community and/or environmental organizations and make donations in an effort to offset impacts, such as carbon emissions, from our business activities.
Promoting progressive sustainability practices and thinking in all of our client engagements and continue to be a world leader in sustainability innovation and communication
