Scott Burns

Based in Annapolis, Maryland, Scott brings extensive environmental expertise and large-scale project management capabilities to the Council Fire team.

Scott’s career in conservation spans more than 30 years and covers a broad array of sectors. Prior to joining Council Fire, Scott served as the Director of the Walton Family Foundation’s Conservation Program, where he led a half-billion dollar grant-making effort focused on healthy oceans and river systems, and Director of the Global Oceans Program with World Wildlife Fund. He has helped lead many important international, national and regional conservation policy initiatives and has been a major contributor to the development of key private sector fisheries conservation partnerships, including the Marine Stewardship Council.
