Scott Burns

Based in Annapolis, Maryland, Scott brings extensive environmental expertise and large-scale project management capabilities to the Council Fire team.

Scott’s career in conservation spans more than 30 years and covers a broad array of sectors. Prior to joining Council Fire, Scott served as the Director of the Walton Family Foundation’s Conservation Program, where he led a half-billion dollar grant-making effort focused on healthy oceans and river systems. He has helped lead many important international, national and regional conservation policy initiatives and has been a major contributor to the development of key private sector fisheries conservation partnerships, including the Marine Stewardship Council.
